Travel eSIM privacy: protect your activation details

An eSIM profile is associated with a mobile subscription and may contain account-specific activation information. Do not post QR codes publicly or forward installation links to people you do not trust.

Before you go

Use official provider channels, secure your email account and contact support if a code is exposed. Review the provider’s privacy notice to understand what account data it processes.

  • Open the plan’s QR or manual activation instructions before setup.
  • If data does not work, first check that the line is on and selected for mobile data.
  • Change the APN only when the provider gives you an exact value.

If the instructions don’t match your phone

Menu names move between software versions. Follow the current manufacturer guide for your phone, then use the eSIM provider’s plan-specific steps for network settings.
