The same retail name can refer to devices with different radio or SIM configurations.

Manufacturers sometimes configure a handset differently for a specific market. Physical SIM slots, eSIM support and available bands can vary by exact model code even when the product family name is identical.

Before you go

Find the model number in device settings and compare it with the maker’s official support page. If that page is unclear, confirm with the seller or manufacturer before buying.

  • Find the exact model number and the country where the phone was sold.
  • eSIM support alone is not enough; check carrier lock and provider support too.
  • If manufacturer and provider guidance disagree, ask support with the model number.

If the instructions don’t match your phone

A phone family name can cover several country versions. Manufacturer support pages and the provider’s current compatibility list are more useful than a generic model-name search.
