Check eSIM support before booking a trip

A quick device and carrier check can prevent a last-minute connectivity problem.

Support varies by exact model and sales region. A family name such as “iPhone” or “Galaxy” is not enough: use the maker’s current compatibility instructions and check that your phone is not carrier-locked.

Before you go

If the model has regional variants, ask the manufacturer or carrier to confirm the precise model number. Do this before purchasing a plan with a strict refund policy.

  • Find the exact model number and the country where the phone was sold.
  • eSIM support alone is not enough; check carrier lock and provider support too.
  • If manufacturer and provider guidance disagree, ask support with the model number.

If the instructions don’t match your phone

A phone family name can cover several country versions. Manufacturer support pages and the provider’s current compatibility list are more useful than a generic model-name search.
